Gianna davis - albertsons

Here is what people are saying about Gianna: 
Gianna started as Director of Investigations in March 2021, she immediately identified key priorities and created an action plan for success. She quickly built relationships with key stakeholders and peers in the Divisions.  
One big area of focus was pharmacy investigations. She identified areas to improve upon collaboration, reporting, communication, and partnerships to drive results and improve standards and performance. She learned about areas of risk in the pharmacy and provided feedback on risk mitigation. She established herself as a critical partner in the PCAT process and collaborated with partners on best practices.
Gianna developed national programs, training, and standards for Organized Retail Crime investigations. She aligned herself with experts in ORC, joined organizations, and jumped on the opportunity to participate and gain hands on experience. She solicited feedback on existing programs, techniques, standards, and cases with a focus on growing successful concepts and gaining partner support.
Gianna’s participation and leadership with key partners in the Ecommerce team resulted in reduction of fraud transactions and improvements in sales. She identified repeat offenders abusing fraud tactics and implemented mitigation and new company policies to avoid loss.
Gianna served as the project manager on a large scope test initiative with a significant concept utilizing technology to creatively reduce the risk to customers and employees. She demonstrated exceptional exception to detail, flexibility, tenacity, and leveraged cross functional partnerships to achieve the necessary expectations for pilot.
Gianna has quickly established herself as a valuable team player, peer leader, and results driver.

kyle rathsack - festival foods

Here is what people are saying about Kyle: 
On behalf of Skogen’s Festival Foods, we are nominating Kyle Rathsack, Regional Asset Protection Manager for the FMI Rising Star award.  Kyle has been with Skogen’s Festival Foods for 10 years, serving in a variety of roles throughout the Asset Protection program. In his current role as a Regional Asset Protection Manager, he directly supports a multi-market team tasked with integrity and behavioral shrink investigations, associate Asset Protection awareness, and store security solutions execution.  In addition to being a key contributor to the Asset Protection program at Festival Foods, Kyle also has served in the US Army National Guard since 2012 and is currently a Staff Sargent.  Kyle shows exemplary business excellence most notably through his approach to staying dialed into the evolution of retail Asset Protection. One of Kyle’s main objectives within his role is to continue to drive impact within the organization through the Asset Protection lens. Throughout the organization, Kyle not only is seen as an expert in Asset Protection, but also a business partner, by leveraging his business acumen to ensure that Asset Protection themes are integrated within freestanding components of the business.  Kyle is a continuous learner and takes tremendous pride in building relationships with associates – both in the retail environment and at support level.   In addition to Kyle’s direct impact on the program, Kyle also has been a lead contributor on important initiatives that elevate our stance as a business against underlying risks like active threat preparedness and ensuring strong police department partnerships.

I am writing this letter to nominate Emma Gomez for the LP Rising Star.  Emma is an exceptional employee, a tremendous asset to our department and she is deserving of this award and recognition.  
Collaboration: Emma has developed numerous partnerships. She is a strong communicator and has taken initiative to support our asset protection field division teams along with corporate support functional areas in collaborative efforts.

Commitment to High Standards:  With an immense amount of corporate, division and store level change, Emma has used data to consistently heighten expectations as it relates to quality, support, and customer-service.

Leadership in Teamwork: Emma has organized and lead team meetings, training/development initiatives. She has provided strong leadership and oversight in our case management system. Her understanding of retail store operations, corporate functional groups, ecommerce, and the complexity of supply chain has qualified her to move into a leadership role.

Passion: Emma is a self-motivator, extremely organized, continually learning new ways to manage routine activities both efficiently and effectively. Her continuous attention to detail, development of best practices has earned the respect of her colleagues.
Responsiveness/Service: Emma consistently goes above and beyond the job in pursuit of excellence. Her willingness to assist others and positive attitude to get the job done reflects in her team player approach.

John-Paul (J.P.) Frattone - giant company

As director of asset protection and safety for The GIANT Company, John-Paul (J.P) Frattone himself is an all-around asset to the company.

Well-known across the organization as an always on-point person for the company, J.P. strives to achieve business excellence each day, in all that he does. He is a trusted business partner for colleagues across the 190-store chain and beyond, partnering closely other Ahold Delhaize USA brands to deliver. A respected veteran of the retail grocery industry, J.P. is widely respected for his responsiveness, collaborative spirit, thoughtful leadership style, attention to detail, strong work ethic and the innate ability to garner buy-in to facilitate success on behalf of the company.

In 2021, John-Paul reduced shrink by 7% over 2020, contributing to the company’s strong performance for the year. After safety was added to John-Paul’s role, he reduced loss time claims by 26% YOY.

People Excellence:  In all that he does, J.P, lives The GIANT Company’s Team Promises of Be You, Grow through New Opportunities, and Make a Difference. He is a purpose-leader dedicated to elevating those around him to be the very best version of themselves and achieve whatever level of professional success they desire.

J.P. joined the company as Store Manager in 2011. He served as Center Store Sales Manager from 2017 until his promotion to his current role in 2020. J.P. also serves on the Pennsylvania Food Merchant Association’s Loss Prevention Committee.

J.P. empowers his team to protect and enhance business profits by emphasizing training and development. He successfully spurred 20 team members to complete LPQualified/LPCertified programs, with an additional 25 members currently enrolled. He introduced a new program to raise awareness about organized retail crime. Under his leadership, more than 20 team members completed Wicklander-Zulawski certification. Perhaps the most significant sign of J.P.’s mentorship, the promotion of seven team members.

The GIANT Company’s Purpose, Connecting Families for a Better Future, is one that J.P. wholeheartedly believes in; in fact, giving back is part of J.P.’s personal purpose. An active member of his community, J.P. serves as a member of the board of directors at Catholic Harvest Food Pantry located in York, Pa., supporting the organization’s work to eliminate hunger in the community. J.P. also encourages his team to do the same; to date, he has facilitated numerous opportunities for his team to give back, with more than 450 service hours donated.

Profit Excellence:   Driving results and achieving strong financials are fundamentals for J.P. As noted earlier, in 2021, John-Paul reduced shrink by 7% over 2020, contributing to the company’s strong performance for the year. Recent contributions include working with the profitability team to convert baby food/formula from destroy to markdown disposition, resulting in a 44% reduction in destroy dollars on these products.

Indicative of J.P.’s customer-centric mindset, he is currently piloting Tally Smartshelf as a solution to identity theft and Everseen check-out technology to reduce errors customers experience at self-checkout. He’s also developed a merchandising partnership to pilot and test theft deterrent fixtures, introduced cart pushout prevention technology, and is currently rolling out a new video surveillance system chainwide.

He refocused reporting to give the operations team a better view of wins and opportunities. He also rolled out the Profitect mobile application through Zebra Technologies to streamline and improve reporting.

These efforts all point to J.P.’s focus on the business, driving measurable results and favorable financial performance through the use of data and insights to inform decisions and implement solutions.
